American Showcase Dropped

For the 2004 festival and beyond, Sundance has decided to drop the American Showcase program. Although no official reason has been given for this move, it is widely believed that the festival felt that the purpose of this program was not sufficiently unique and the films that have previously screened in American Showcase could just as easily be presented in Premieres and Park City at Midnight.
